Every figure in these guides links to the body that published it: the Las Vegas Valley Water District, the Southern Nevada Water Authority, Clark County, the City of Las Vegas and the Nevada State Contractors Board. If a claim here has no source beside it, treat it as opinion.
Two deliberate limits. These guides will tell you how to observe something, read your water meter, look inside a brine tank, check an aerator, identify pipe by appearance, and they will not tell you how to work on a gas line, a pressure relief valve or a live electrical disconnect. And where an interval or a procedure belongs to your equipment manufacturer, we point you at your unit manual instead of inventing a number that would be wrong for your model.

Who writes these guides?
They are published by Preferred Plumber Company. No individual author is named, because we are not going to attach a fabricated person and a fabricated credential to them. Every factual claim links to the agency that published it, which is a stronger check than a byline anyway.
Why do the guides tell me how to fix things myself?
Because several of the most common calls we get are things that cost nothing to fix: a scaled aerator, a salt bridge in a brine tank, a tripped reset on a disposal. Telling you costs us a call that was never a job and earns the ones that were.
How current are the figures?
