Water softener repair for all makes and models, including units that came with the house. Most failures we are called to are one of four things, and three of them are cheaper than the replacement someone has already quoted.
A softener rarely dies loudly. It stops working and the house slowly goes back to 17 grain water while everyone assumes the unit is fine because it is plugged in.
Open the brine tank and push a broom handle down through the salt. If it stops on a hard shelf with a gap under it, that is a salt bridge, and it is the single most common reason a softener quietly stops working. Breaking it up sometimes fixes the whole complaint at no cost.

The Las Vegas Valley Water District publishes valley tap water at 291 parts per million, 17 grains per gallon, and categorises it as very hard. It is the reason fixtures and water heaters here do not last as long as the box promised.

Usually one of three things: a salt bridge holding the salt above the water, a blocked injector so the unit cannot draw brine, or a control head that is no longer starting a regeneration cycle. All three look identical from the outside, which is why the tank gets opened first.
Service life depends on the equipment, the settings and the water, and in very hard water the resin and the valve work harder than average. Rather than quote a number that would be a guess about your unit, we check the resin and the valve condition and tell you where yours actually is.
It turns on two things: whether the resin still has life, and whether the failed part costs a meaningful fraction of a new unit. When resin is exhausted, repair is money spent on a unit that still cannot soften. That is the one case where we lead with replacement.
A stuck valve can restrict flow, and a drain line problem can put water where it should not be. Neither is usually dramatic. The real cost of a dead softener is that the house is back on very hard water and the appliances are paying for it.
