The city housing profile is younger on average than the older parts of Las Vegas, and it is strongly banded by neighborhood. Green Valley and Whitney Ranch carry a lot of construction from the growth decades, which puts a meaningful share of them inside the polybutylene window of roughly 1978 to 1995, alongside copper. Anthem, Inspirada and the newer MacDonald Ranch and Seven Hills pockets are later, and generally PEX with manifold distribution. The Las Vegas Valley Water District publishes valley tap water at 291 parts per million, 17 grains per gallon, and categorises it as very hard. It is the reason fixtures and water heaters here do not last as long as the box promised.
The Southern Nevada Water Authority states that removing calcium and magnesium softens water but is not a necessity to protect your health. Any company telling you otherwise is contradicting the agency that tests your supply.

Does a Henderson plumbing permit go through Clark County?
No. Henderson runs its own building function through the city, so a Henderson address permits with the city and not with Clark County Building and Fire Prevention. This is one of the most common administrative mistakes in valley plumbing work.
Is Henderson water different from Las Vegas water?
Not in any way you would notice. It is the same Colorado River source arriving through Lake Mead, published at 280 parts per million regionally and 291 parts per million for the valley, both classed very hard. Henderson utility services are administered separately, which is a billing and permitting difference rather than a water quality one.
Why does my water pressure vary in Anthem or Seven Hills?
Those are hillside developments, and elevation changes pressure across a neighborhood. Before assuming a supply fault it is worth checking the pressure regulator at the house, because a failing regulator produces exactly this complaint and is a far smaller job.
Do Green Valley homes have polybutylene pipe?
Some in that era may. Construction from roughly 1978 to 1995 falls inside the polybutylene window, and Green Valley includes a lot of building from those decades. It is identified by looking rather than assumed: grey flexible supply pipe is the tell, and a build year alone is not proof.
